A Maltese based group of re-enactors, we live the life of a group of people nearly 600 years ago.

Our team depicts life as a community situated in the Italian Med basin where Norman, Sicilian, Aragonese, French and English feudal lords cut up territory between themselves. Our aim is to portray the High Medieval period from a military and civilian perspective. This period contains notable events which were to change the world we live in today.

Over ten years, a group of dedicated, passionate, amateur history geeks created Anakron living history.
The year is 1450, the hundred years war was coming to an end, Spanish Aragonese control the HRE (Holy Roman Empire). Norman Sicilians oversee the islands and the lucrative tithes issued with it. Alfonso V was the king of the lands. The Byzantine Empire was crumbling to the Ottoman might. One of the last crusades were made to stop their advance on the Continent. Constantinople would fall, but yet the island's vassals, battle hardened by years of Corsair attacks continued to hold out against any intruders.
What we do, and why we do it....
Life in medieval times was not all about Knights in shining armour, or rescuing Princesses from evil over lords. Nor was it a place of dirt, squalor and chaos. The feudal world of the mid 15th Century was one of social order and structure. Even though the Black Death decimated many populations, the back bone of any army was the travelling band of camp followers. Anakron aims to show the everyday life of these normal people.
The group contains various secions, and our set up shows many and varied trades of the time. From Blacksmithing to Wood turning, from the Tavern to the Hunt, we represent a snapshot of High medieval life. We meet regularly to relive these interesting times, where our aim is to be as authentic as is possible (We suddenly can't all learn Latin, or forget that we read and write...).
During our reguar sessions, the military wing organise drills, skirmishes, and instruct on the use and tactics of combat from the time of plate, pike, and sword. With attachments of Musicians, Artisans and more, the camp ground changes from List, Archery range to social entertainment within the tavern.
